My rant about live music venues the other day only applies to about 90% of them in existence. The in Vancouver is – or, more accurately, was – one of the other 10%. A comfortable place with good food and acts that were good – or at least interesting.
Here’s an email from my friend Jamie:
Hi all,
Maybe you’re already aware of this but the is losing it’s spot on Granville and needs help to get the appropriate licenses so they can relocate. In their words, “We are asking the City of Vancouver to use their resources to help us relocate to an appropriate location with an appropriate license.”
The is the most important and one of the only (if not THE only) above-ground venues in Vancouver that features off-the-beat-and-track (ie. cool) musical, spoken-word, literary and culinary experiences. It’s simply a great place to be… so let’s save it!!!!
