Microsoft iPod

The other day, Mica and I were discussing product packaging. The powers that be at her place of employment are pushing really complex packaging, with stickers and bows and all kinds of rickety-rackety all over the place. I think that’s a terrible approach, especially on a high-end product (or a product that needs to look high end). I was reminded of the following clip, where Microsoft (a company somewhat lacking in taste) take the box from the original Apple iPod and remakes it in their own image. It’s a great visual for the idea of “less is more” (sorry Hilary, I know how you hate that phrase…).
