Scott Adams (creator of “Dilbert”) has been building a new home in California over the past few months. Being an engineer and a bit of a non-conformist smart-arse, he’s questioning some of the basic ideas about home building, and rethinking things for efficiency and usability: two things close to my heart.
He’s compiled a list of rules for energy-efficient building - some might seem obvious, but it’s amazing how few builders seem to follow them. Some of the commenters have other good ideas too.
