How Google Serves Data from Multiple Datacenters
[The Google employee] does an excellent job explaining and evaluating the different options you have when architecting a system to work across multiple datacenters. This is called> multihoming > , operating from multiple datacenters simultaneously.
I’m thinking a lot about this kind of thing now. This article, from @mig5ter, is a nice report on a talk that a Googler did about how they deal with the architectural problems of serving the same data from multiple data centres. This will come in handy at $WORK.
