Hidden Pizza is a Yellow Pages promotion

If you’ve heard of Hidden Pizza, you probably know by now who the promotion is for. It is for Yellow Pages.

I’ve heard about Hidden Pizza, which turns out to be kind of an interesting idea: make people look for things in the Yellow Pages.

But the problem with this promotion is that people, by default, don’t use the Yellow Pages for anything. I’ve probably used the book once or twice in the past ten years, and I can’t remember that last time I used the website. When I want to find anything, I use Google. Phone numbers, addresses, locations.

The linked article at Anthill goes into much more detail about why this promotion is fundamentally flawed - I encourage you to have a look and laugh.

Whoever is in charge of Sensis’s digital strategy ought to be shown the door. They really have no clue. Reckon it’s the same mob who came up with that sock puppet, and the goat-and-frog? They should be embarrassed.
