Opposition may scrap myki, says Baillieu

Opposition Leader Ted Baillieu has said he may scrap myki if his party wins government in November.

Interesting to note though, that as of 12:30 Monday, they poll was 2/3 in favour of sending Myki to the scrap heap.

To be clear: I think smartcards are a great idea, in general. My problems are with the implementation of the system, the and shitty project management that has led to inconceivably massive cost overruns.

The very poor way that Victoria’s public transport is being managed and run must change. If that doesn’t change, no matter what ticketing system is chosen, it will be a mess.
