HP's One-Year Plan

Let’s say you were given a year to kill> Hewlett-Packard > . Here’s how you do it:

I liked and respected HP. They were around since the beginning. Arguably, they’re one of the major reasons why the Silicon Valley happened where it did. They valued intelligence, thought and long-term planning.

Being a Mac user for decades, I even liked their PC kit. It was generally well-built and well-supported. It didn’t feel cheap like a Dell. While I’d never touched HP-UX or any of their big iron, their medium-biz servers are quite nice. We use HP exclusively at $DAYJOB on the desktop and in the server rooms.

So it makes me sad to see what’s happening at HP now. They’ve gone off the deep end.
